Bali Mother and Baby House

We look after children and women who have nowhere else to go. These books were extremely helpful to the young women in our care who had not been informed of body safety and education. They found the language easy to understand and were not embarrassed about the content due to the non-patronising tone. They told me they felt more knowledgeable and in control after reading the books.

We read ‘No means no’ to our younger children - boys and girls. They relished the information from Educate2Empower and our House echoed with ‘no means no’. I am positive this early education gives children a grounding in knowing how to respect their bodies and also respect others. In our case, the children would not have been given this information via any other avenue. We are so grateful.

After having the posters put up in our House the children often asked questions about their bodies. The questions became more sophisticated as they got older. Having these resources meant that we could relay the information in accurate and appropriate ways. The books on secrets were gold. The children have been given a range of solutions to deal with body safety issues that will help them forever. Thank you Educate2Empower.

The activity booklets are a great way to reinforce the information from the books. The children at our House loved answering the questions in their own words and it didn’t feel like a lesson to them. They shared their answers with each other and loved play-acting the different moods and emotions. Their favourite book is ‘No Difference Between Us’ – I could practically see the light bulbs going off as they comprehended these vital health and safety messages.
